Working on getting my boat in the water for the 1st time this year. I have a yamaha 250 4 stroke built in 2006. Went to start it and I have an alarm going off. It's only beeping in neutral. Stops as soon as I put it in gear. Manual says it might be the fuel/water seperator. I have taken it off and drained it. Didn't see any water in it. When I disconnect the sensor on the water seperator, the alarm stops. Where can I take it from here? Thanks in advance. Looking forward to getting on the water.

there have been some issues with the water detect switch in the engine mounted filter, it can be run dissconected but usually its covered under warrenty.
contact your selling dealer or closest yamaha dealer and have the engine primary ID avalible.
if that does not work contact yamaha's consumer line and they will take care of you.
