My father had to go down town and asked if I needed to go. Well I just ordered some parts for my saw zaw on Monday of this week so I told my father "let me call up and see if those parts are in by chance". I called up and spoke with the same guy that I was dealing with the other day and he got angry at me and said "you was just in hear yesterday and you expect these parts to be in today in just a matter of hours ". He went on to say a few other things, basically rambling on.

First off I was in there ordering the parts on Monday not yesterday which was Tuesday and he told me that there was a chance that they could be in today. When I made the phone call to him I was calm at first and I just asked if the parts were in, then after he got mad at me for calling I said "wait a minute, I thought I was in there Monday and you are going to treat me this way", I also said to him basically "the heck with you I won't deal with you anymore" and he replied back with "the heck with you to". No I didin't use profanity

What is this world coming to?????. That isn't all of it. My father called up and spoke to the man to try and clear this matter up, and the man said "I'll give you the number to get the parts directly" and "that as far as he is concerned we could take the saw and shove it".

Well I called the company back up and I asked to speak to someone over his head and I was told that he is the manager so I guess other then turning him into better business, I'm just SOL but something has got to give for real.

He almost acts like he is the only person that can get those parts. This isn't the only time we have dealt with this company but it is the only time we have had this happen . I wouldn't of had to go through this mess if I hadn't of loaned out the saw a few month back, then they brought it back with the missing parts which they did point out.

Sorry I had to vent!!!!!

There has to be someone over the manager. I don't believe the manager owns the store, but if so, then why does he call himself the manager. I see more hostililty in businesses and customers. I think it all stems from the price of fuel that is bringing good moral down big time.

The manager probably forgot to order your parts and that is why he got mad. I've had it happen to me many of times. Being a service tech, I order lots of parts from different vendors. If they brush me the wrong way, I take my business elsewhere. One vender I deal with gets between $40,000 to $50,000 a year in refrigeration parts. Needless to say, they make sure that I'm satisfied and kept happy. They have opened the store on weekends and after hours for me during emergency situations. I can't complain about that. Of course, I give them McD's gift certificates during those times of need too! :D

Without knowing the full story, there is 1) More to this than you have told us, or more probably, 2) that something very bad just happened to that manager - ie bad news from home, just learned of losing his job, etc. Since you have had good dealings with them in the past, if they are a business you want to continue using, suck it up and talk to him another day, when things might be going better. If you don't care to deal with them again, go buy your parts elsewhere and don't darken their door or ring them on the phone again. Anyway you look at it, it is not worth you getting high blood pressure because the other guy is being a jerk!

Yes it's a shame, if I treated my customers like that I would be looking for a new job!

I bought several parts from a local trailer supply house and the manager is a royal *&%#@&. He was rude while I was asking questions about replacing the axle on my trailer. Then got pissy when I wanted to swap the axle they gave me because it had a scratch/ding where the seal seats. Imagine, me, the customer, wanting the new axle to perfectly seal and not allow water into the bearings,,, on a boat trailer axle...

On my LAST trip there my son was looking at their light display and touching the buttons. The same guy (the manager) rudely asked me to keep my son from touching their light display. Well, if you don't want children touching the shiney flashing light display, don't put it at kid level. Honestly, I wouldn't have been offended if he had more tact in the way he asked.

The crappy part is, they are the only good "local" trailer supply house and I think they know it. Oh well, ordering the parts off the internet is cheaper and I don't have to waste 2 hours driving across town anymore...

I see it happening everyday.

I think the real problem is what SS Mayfloat has stated.... Money is getting tighter, and it's on EVERYONE'S mind. We run into it where customers basically want something for nothing, or want work done, and want us to pay for it too. People are getting more and more demanding, and money is harder to come by.

Customer service should NEVER be an issue. I don't tolerate rudeness, as I'm not rude to my customers either. I was just into a parts place, asking for some wheel hubs, and they apparently had better things to do. So, when I finally asked for some help, they gave me generic answers, and told me I couldn't do what I wanted to do. So, I left -- got online and ordered the parts. I'm happier, and I'm sure they are too, because they didn't want to deal with me either.

People aren't friendly anymore, or at least anymore than they absolutely have to be. The subcontractors we deal with, get repeat business all the time, because, basically, they're "people" people.

Oh trust me that is the whole story, I didn't pee in that man's cheerios :D. Monday we were talking and even joking with this man and then today the man was a totally different person. Maybe it's drugs even though he is an older man maybe in his 50's. I think what it is, there is an old man that works there, I'm thinking he is the owner but nobody wanted to transfer me or take a message to him when I called to complain about the manager. I just simply told the lady what just happened and told her that I guess I just won't do business with them anymore.

This other company I'm dealing with now actually sent me a diagram of the saw by email when before I had to drive down and look at what they had with this company that I have a complaint about. Be interesting to see if they are higher on the parts then the company I had a fallout with. I've been broke for a year now and I've pretty much haven't let it bother me. If price of living going up is going to affect certain peoples attitudes I guess I better stay clear of them, somebody may snap on me for saying hello to them.

From what I understand it wouldn't do no good to complain to the better business anyway.

If I have my way about it, I will spread the news about how this one company treated me today, I'll spread it like wild fire locally. I don't ever plan on going back to them.

I have worked in sales in the past and I have never talked down to a customer, I might be going to work for another business that works in sales and rental.

Blow up over a one time incident? I'd go back at least once (not expecting anything) to see how he acts.

Nowdays, after cranking in the price of the gas and the sales tax, ordering off the internet is the way to go.

Yes over a one time incident. I refuse to go back without a hand full of nails in my hand ;), no telling where those nails might land. My father did that once. Bad Bad Wildmaninal I shouldn't even think that way.

Sorry about that Tyme2fish, I am a young buck still (in my late 20's) still got some green showing :D.

Tell me about it, here I am fixing to try selling on the internet. For what you may ask? So I can buy gas so I can go buy other items when I should be buying off of the internet also.

There are 2 kinds of employees and it is easy to tell who is who.

1. There are the ones who are there for a paycheck
2. There are the ones that are there to provide a service/job for the employer

The ones who fall into the #2 catagory are the ones with the best work ethics. At least that is the way I see it. An employer can't build a business by having someone with an attitude problem drive off customers.

There are dam few things, parts,............whatever................. that can't be obtained with a few key strokes on the internet. A certain i-company is a excellent example. Thats where i'd be looking...............especially with todays fuel cost. For most parts I can afford to wait for it's my first stop.

Hey I respect my elders now, :D:D. I honestly get along with the older people better then I get along with people my own age. But as far as dating I don't see dating an older woman though.

Actually, filing a report with the BBB might do some good... for starters, the complaint will get to his boss, who will have to send in reply paperwork in response to your complaint, which might just tick him off enough to talk to this guy about it. He's got a boss, just because he doesn't want you talking to his boss, doesn't mean he doesn't have one.

If he is the owner, then you are his boss.

Although I agree with everyone else that he was probably having a bad day, that's still no excuse to talk to customer's like that. We all have bad days, but 99.9% of people don't see any reason to take it out on others when they do.

I know if I'm going to do it I need to do it soon. I don't know how long of a grace period I would have on something like that.

A couple of years back my sister n law bought my niece (her daughter) a used computer which the owner/operator of the computer store told my sister n law that the computer was up to date and had a fast processor and lots of memory. She paid $500 for the computer if I remember right. I checked the computer out for them after they bought it. They don't know computers. The computer had windows 98 on it and was only a 300 mhz processor. Anyhow it wasn't an up to date computer by a long shot especially sense they had a 3.0 GHZ processor back then. I told my brother what the deal was on the computer and that they got screwed. They decided to turn him to the BBB and nothing ever happened, they recieved a copy of the mans reply which didn't even show any apology and that was about all. They kept the computer but my niece didn't get to do much on it other then use the paint program, just recently they gave the computer to a friend.
