I just bought a 1979 Glastron SSV 176 with a Mercury 115 outboard. The guy I bought it from said to use Mercury 2 stroke oil only. Is this true or is there other oil that is ok?
Thanks, T.G.

Re: Merc. 2 stroke oil

PennZoil synth blend at Wal-Mart is probably better oil, and about half the price. From what I've heard (listening for years) the Wal-mart (Super-Tech) outboard oil is as good as any Dino Oil.

I use Pennz full synthetic in mine, probably an overkill, but it's an overtuned XR4 that knows only idle and WOT.

hope it helps
