I own a 1979 Four Winns Marquise 170 that has a soft spongy floor in front of the engine well. The floor has a covering of 1/8 inch thick fiberglass over what appears to be 3/4 inch plywood. The wood floor has rotted and needs to be replaced. The only way to replace the wood floor is to take out the fiberglass. Is this a project that someone has had experience with?

Hoping that someone out there has experience with this problem and will share their information.

Need a little more direction---is there a special catagory for deck and stringer repair or else go through each thread?

Thank you. Imagine if one would like to know something bad enough they will spend the time researching it.
