Hello

Im going fishing in a bit here in FLorida and i have some trouble with the FISHING LICENSE, i went to the official website on florida and pay $19+ for it but when i was about to print the TEMPORARY License number the Webbrowser crashed and now what im going to do?

my Question is can i still fish on a boat in saltwater even if i dont carry the temporary number with me ? i feel terrible about this cause i paid already, also my father has the fishing license on the record till july+ this year, but he lost the license copy.

Must have with you at the time or ticket, also must have ID.
Quickest way now is baitshop, walmart....

if Dad is 65 or older, no license required, just ID.

also if you are disabled, vet, ssi, etc, you can get a free license.

You need a license to fish in salt water in Florida? I fish in salt in NJ and NY and neither requires a fishing lisence for salt water, just for fresh.

Good Gosh! How many other states are ripping you off to fish in the ocean?

Didn't used too. You still can fish from the shore without one (plenty of that here).

you also need a lobster stamp, to dive for lobster. it never ends.

How does it work on the head boats? I need a license to get on a party boat and go out for a few hours?

Unless regulations have changed in Florida since last year, my understanding is that if you are on a boat, the BOAT has to have a license but the individual fishermen do not. I live in GA, but visit family frequently in south Florida. I have not ever had to get a fishing license unless I was looking for bugs; no license required for shore fishing, and if on a boat, I am usually on someone else's boat or one of those cattle boats out of Haulover marina.

They still issue a permit but it is free.

Commercial fishing boats (charter and head boats) are supposed to have a license for all that are on board. But on a non-commercial boat, you need the license. Then some species have special permits over and above the license. Have had to get licenses the last several years when heading to FL to fish with Snapperbait.
