Any Johnson 50 model to avoid?

Hi: I am new to the forum. I'm looking to buy a two cylinder Johnson 50. Are there any models of this motor to avoid for design flaws or other similar reasons?

Those engines have been in production for over 30 years, Fenderman. Great engines.

If there is any caveat I would offer it is that the early 80s VRO oil injection pump was not very reliable, so most have been disconnected or updated to the later, more reliable version.

i have run many different years of 50's. all are great, agree on the vro pump. all of mine are disabled.
