I have a 1989 Force 125, that I just replaced the powerhead on. Now I'm having an issue with the trim system. It works fine, but the motor slowly lowers itself to fully down position in 30-60 minutes. I assume I have a leak past a seal somewhere because I don't see any oil in the water, and the level in the reservoir seems ok. Anyone had a similar experience ?Where is the best place to start troubleshooting?

Re: Force 125 Tilt issue

You have a two stage system.Trim up then Tilt out. If the trim up is leaking down 99% of the time the trim motor has a problem and needs to be replaced as they are not rebuilable. If it's tilt out the lift ram (looks like a shock absorber) is bad. You can find these on e-bay. PM me, I might be able to find you the whole setup.(can I say that on here???)I don't want to break the rules.Jerry

Re: Force 125 Tilt issue

I had the same thing happen to me tilt it up and it would slowly go down. The problem is the hydraulic valve body. They run about $250 to $300 i found a place at www.tcoutboard.com you can get for about $125 and exchange for your old vale body. It cost me $240 to replace mind but that fixed the problem. Hope this helps. Buda
