Relective tape on trailer

My boat trailer is legal for lights, etc., in Texas. Just put some guide-on posts to help loading in windy conditions. Bought some red reflective tape to make it more visible, but can't find any legal guide/regs for this in Texas. How do you guys mark your trailers with supplemental reflectors and/or tape? I was thinking top of guide posts, corners of trailer frame, front and back edge of fenders. Thanks in advance.

Your plan sounds good. I also put some silver reflective tape on the back of the boat, since that is higher than anything else on my trailer.

on the trailer where it start to v toward the tongue, use yellow reflective. rear corners Red. you can put red all the way from the top of the guide on, to the bottom. the idea is yellow is for on coming traffic, red is for following traffic. basically the way the lights are set up on the car.

tashasdaddy, thanks for the info. Never knew the significant of the different color reflective tape. I thought thay are all the same as they reflect lights and warn people that an object is near. Now I know what to do, go and rip out all the yellow tape off the back of the trailer and put red tape in place.

Yup, I'm headed to the "man store" tomorrow for some yellow tape. Then I'm ready for the water on Sat. or Monday. Thanks TD.

Redneck Trailer Supplies has a page in their catalog on how to mark trailers with lights and the conpiscuity tape. They are online also. The tape seems to help some of the clueless that there is a trailer bigger than a car blocking the road in front of them. Others will swear to the investigating officer "I didn't see nuthin!"

I am presently retrofitting my granfathered in trailers to increase my chances of being seen by drunks. Maybe that will help avoid a collision.

That's a good reference. Downloaded it and saved it. The trailer is marked correctly now...on to the lake Monday.
