Trailer Parking Lights not working

I just bought a 1998 Stratos 285 Pro Elite today. By the time I got home it was dark and I noticed that while my brake and turn signals work.....the parking lights and side markers did not.

What is the most likely cause for that?

First thing, get yourself a 12 volt test light.
Check you tow vehicles parking lights ,fuse could be blown.
Next check the tow vehicle plug for power on the brown lead with your parking lights on. If you get power there check at the coupler on the trailer. Next check the connection where the brown wire splits to go down both sides of the trailer.

when you do troubleshoot and fix them - make sure they are grounded.

There are no "parking" lights on a trailer. The amber side marker, identification and tail lights are called "running lights". The "Identification" lights are the three lights in the middle of the trailer at the back of trailers over 80 inches wide.

If towing with a Ford F-150 or Explorer, there is a 20 amp fuse in the underhood fuse/relay box just for the trailer marker/parking lights.

Silver....Thanks for the terminology lesson. I appreciate the fact that your post had no meaningful content towards the topic of this thread. In the future, if you see another one of my threads, do me a favor.......don't read it.

As for those of you actually trying to help and understood my problem.....it has been resolved.

It was a fuse issue under the hood. Thanks to those of you who were trying to help solve a problem.

It's a GMC Sierra but that was exactly the problem. Thanks!

Since that's the way you want it, I won't bother explaining why I tried to clarify the Parking Light/Running Light terminology.
