I have a 21' pontoon fishing barge by suntracker. The front door wont close with a trolling motor installed. Does anyone know if Suntracker has a replacement door avail. The existing door has a 7" clearance and I need a minimum clearance of 9".

Welcome to iboats Base.
Can you adjust the hinges to get your extra clearance?
I would imagine they only have one type of trolling motor gate, you would have to call them and ask.

Re: Pontoon Boat

can you reverse the gate to swing in, instead of out? just hinge it on the other side, and it will swing in.

Re: Pontoon Boat

Thank you for your response. The door currently swings in. The problem comes when the motor is in the down position. I store the boat at a Marina and dont wish to remove the motor each time. My last option is to remove the door, cut it down and reinstall which requires removing the boat from the Marina and finding a competent sheet metal cutter and Aluminum welder. The Sun Tracker people have not been helpful at answering the question. They tell me there should not be a problem.

Can you snap a couple of photos of the setup? That would be really helpful in trying to visualize the problem you're having. If you need help posting photos, I'm sure we can help.

Re: Pontoon Boat

I understand the situation perfectly as I have a new Misty Harbor four-corner fish and have the same problem. My gate has two horizontal bars about 6 inches apart. I will cut a six inch wide section out of the lower bar and the decorative aluminum panel. to maintain the integrity of the lower bar i will make another aluminum panel and pop rivet it on the inside of the door. The door will then close over the motor just fine. Raising the door on its hinge is not an option if you have a playpen cover as the cover will no longer fit.
