List of things that went wrong....

1: Nearly sunk my boat from accidently leaving the live well fill pump on (I don't have an over fill outlet, but will be coming soon once I figure out how to run it out of the livewell).

2: Got the anchor hung up while fishing, which my uncle volunteered to back the boat up and it actually come unhung.

3: Skint my boat up just a little while trying to get out a tight spot I rubbed up againt a pontoon boat,

4: Lost spark on my right side of my motor last night (of the 25th) power pack must be bad, at least that is what I'm thinking at the moment.

5: Made it to the spot we wanted to fish at even though we had motor problems. We had 2 seadoos come right through our fishing spot within spitting distance, and the one driver apologized for this action , all he had to do is keep to the right, we were not in anybodies way.

6: Then after all of that.... had an idiot come between us and the narrow narrow passage way between us and the channel marker (other side was 3ft deep). The man flew through at wot and ran right over our fishing lines and snapped them, we had to retrieve the lures, untangle the fishing lines because it cause a mess. We almost tracked is behind down and ;) you know. Once again all he had to do is keep to the one side BUT NO HE COULDN't DO THAT!!!

7: Cut my hand, don't know or remember how.

8: Got a rash on my wrist from carrying a little kiddy paddle boat, and my back hurt so darn bad at times from sleeping on a darn couch.

9: Lost my favorite hat while loosing my grip on it so I could move closer to listen to what my brother was saying while at WOT :(.

10: Went up there broke (no money).

11: Woke up earlier then expected to wake up (like 4:30am) instead my brother's alarm wen off at 2:30am (if not a hare later) and I couldn't go back to sleep but really didn't sleep that good anyway on the firt night.

12: My brother laid his new to him Motorcycle (in mint condition) down while parking it, didn't do any damage that we can see so far believe it or not.

13: Can't keep the one darn boat trailer light working.

14: Had a leak around the bead of the tire after I moved the trailer from its normal parking spot, before I went the lake. So far we have it fixed.

LIST OF THINGS THAT WENT GOOD.

1: Caught a few nice stripes and bass. I got them cut up and in the freezer.

2: Had almost a great time dispite nearly all of what happened :).

3: Had a nice time chatting with nearly all of my aunts, uncles, cousins, and so on.

4: Got to go out fishing again with my brother and his boat today because mine wont be fixed for a while if it is the power pack that went out.

5: Got home safe and sound.

For real though I had a good time, but will most likely be cursing and all when it comes to fixing the skint place, and putting a new power pack in (at over a $100 most likely). What a mess!!!!!!!

I hope you aint talking about the last good 5 things that happened. I would go nuts if every fishing trip went like that.

At one point I fealt like a kid again. Here it was me, one uncle, and my brother fishing in my `15ft Challenger bass boat. My uncle was operating the trolling motor in my place because I half to use both feet due to my condition to control the boat while fishing on the left hand side. They talked me into putting a foot control trolling motor in in place of my modified electric steer that I've been working so hard on. I would of had one of them operate it instead of me regardless, I set in the driver's seat and fished out of it.

Eagle, glad you had a great weekend. Get out there and do some fishing or boating. Of coarse you could always make up for it on 4th of July maybe.

Mine sucked. Started with the 4a.m. Friday phone call from my wife's stepmother. My father-in-law died. Rest of the weekend was picking up people at the airport, running errands, making arrangements, picking........., running,,,,,,,,,, etc. Just got home from the service a couple hours ago, wife finally (I hope) getting a nap. Good man, lived a good life, I'll miss him.

Re: Had a great weekend and how about you all?

Well at least I'm still on my same tank of gas but I only have a 1/4 or so left. The first fishing day went great but after that everything went down hill .

Hoss.. I hate to hear that man my condolences.

zach103.. Use this as an example of what not to do when fishing.

I'm not that old but am older then zach103 :p.

jt57.. This trip only cost me the price of gas, whatever covers the repair of the scrape, price of 1 spoon lure, and possibly $100 plus for a power pack if I half to replace it which again I believe it is the problem.

That darn pontoon boat that I scrubbed against was parked at my uncle's neighbor's dock. I tried to push away from it but that didn't work. We got back from the fishing trip and one of my other uncles asked if I knocked a hole in the boat, I told him that I only scraped it which I did. Next time I will troll out away from my uncle's dock instead of trying to back out while dealing with strong waves pushing in.

went to Daytona to take the Chris Craft out. ( we keep it is Daytona, instead of Jacksonville, prettier boating there.) got to Ponce Inlet, the ocean was very rough, so we came back inside, and moored at Disappearing Island (Really nice clean white sand sandbar. a group came in set up an make shift stage, generator, and play music until high tide. beautiful setting and a great day, even if we did not wet a hook.

tashasdaddy and samm835, glad you all had a great time. Tash that must be a very nice area down there :).

I forgot to add that somebody was kind enough to swamp my boat from passing by at WOT also . Waves came nicely into the boat. The spot that we were at is one of the best fishing spots on the lake, really it has become my favorite fishing spot. Those goofballs acted like there wasn't any room to stay away from us or from out in front of us also, we were not in anybodies way at all plenty of room.

Re: Had a great weekend and how about you all?

I had a great weekend. I finally got to put some hours on my boat. We went out for a Saturday evening boat ride, and then Sunday we launched it at 9:30 and didn't put it back on the trailer until 7:30 at night. We ran over 2 tanks of gas thru it! Monday it was storming, so we packed up and went home. But, the boat ran great and I can't wait to get it back in the water. :D

Re: Had a great weekend and how about you all?

This was the quietest M-Day ever that so far seen here South Puget Sound. The State Park Island across from me (Hope Island) was packed with "Beached", as the Indian owned Squaxin Island..(mosty uninhabited, zero anything but the way God made it).
Our Marina is 1/2 full. I'm a block up from the water. didn't even hear a thunder boat come by!
Even the Jetskis were just a floating more than buzzing.
Weather wasn't bad, but the tides were a chore...had too launch early, as middle day way really low tide.
Me? Rode the MiniTrail 70 around the private 5..looking for a smokey backyard grill to mooch a meal mostly.
All 3 boats here on the trailer, waiting on a Pension check build-up...for MORE GAS!...slip M/T. Put the 20 footer in a day or so in the slip, probably take the flat bottom dragboat out again W/E. Been out plenty so far...3 hours=$40...still fun..but wish my back was in good a shape as my "few beers intensity" brain..."too old to be young, too young to be old"..:D

Re: Had a great weekend and how about you all?

I destroyed a prop and broke the skeg on my less than 12 hour old boat. Not the smartest thing I've done, but not the dumbest either. Monday was a much better day except for some afternoon chop.

TBarCYa, now it is officially broken in. put a skeg guard on it to protect the prop, that the easiest repair.

Re: Had a great weekend and how about you all?

My boat stayed in the garage as I'm still working on the transom. Went down to my uncle's cabin where I typically use it anyway to be with family. Had a nice day. It was just as well my boat was in dry dock because it was windy and very choppy. I took my wife out in my uncle's 14' tinny with a newly aquired '98 Merc 9.9. What a nice motor. I found it for him on Craigslist and he pounced on it. Our boat ride was a bit harrowing though on account of the waves and I don't think my wife enjoyed it too much.

No doubt about that. I'm going to order the skeg guard this week. I have access to a TIG welder and could order a new skeg, but I don't want to risk overheating the seals. SkegGuard seems to be what most people recommend anyhow.
