What kind of oil?

Bare with me, I'm very new to boats ... I was wanting to know what type of oil is suppose to be used for the lower unit on a '85' 50 hp Force? Should I look for a certain brand, or number? I'm wanting to change it to make sure it is not milky and to make sure my seals are good .... thx guys for any help.

Marine grade lower gearcase lube.

Not "type c"

The cheap stuff is fine.

what is the best thing to put it in to fill it up with? Do they sell a special oil gun for it or something?

theres a pump you can get that screws in where the drain plug comes out of. It'll pump oil from the quart into the lower unit. I just use the bottle though, get one with a squeezy top.
