40 hp johnson sea horse what year?

I just bought a boat with a johnson motor on it. it has 40 written on the case and the model number is 35012(?) and the serial number is 02117. does anyone know what size engine this is for sure and what year it is? please help...

35012 makes it a 1959 35hp Evinrude !

35012 is the model number for a 1959 Evinrude 35 HP Classic. Good luck with it!

I recieved a 40 hp johnson sea horse from my uncle but we do not know the year to get parts , model # R0 or DSL23 S/N 2194073
can you please help me ?
