Bypass quick disconnect??

I have a 1957 Evinrude FastWin 18 hp and it uses the old pressure fuel system. I seem to have bad o rings in the quick disconnect. Would it be ok to bypass this and run the new fuel lines directly to the motor. I don't plan on pulling my tank out to refill. Please let me know if this is a good idea? Thanks

you can do that, or just replace the orings.

part number 301824 special size and available only from your dealer. Other ones on the market are the wrong size.
