I have a 1986 Mercrusier 170 224 cid Alpha 1 sn#A515232.Does anyone know what type engine it is.Someone said Chevy another said Ford.Thanks for any info
It's a Mercruiser 470.
The block is a Mercruiser designed aluminum block open deck design, using a Ford 460 head and valve train.
Lots of NLA parts to go with it.
If you don't own it now, don't buy it.
