I have a 1996 Johnson Oceanrunner 150hp motor that is running hot. The red light beeps once and the red light stays on. It did the same thing last year and found that the VRO oil pump was plugged. This time I am simply going to replace the entire VRO, replace the fuel filter and replace the water pump. If anyone could steer me in the right direction for replacing the water pump it would be greatly appreciated. If I wait, it could take up to 45 days here in Alaska and with only 5 months of fishable weather, it would be devastating. Thanks in advance for any information on replacing the water pump. DC

The waterpump change out is not difficult. Get a service manual of some kind and have at it. You will need some Permatex Aviation gasket (brush in cap) to coat the water cup and the base gasket, and a bit of silicone caulk to stick some orings into place. I put a new waterpump into my '98 Johnny 150HP tis year, and it now has 30+PSI of waterpressure at WOT.
