battery question

I have a 32' silverton. last summer i had lots of battery problems because i hooked everything up incorrectly and killed my batteries. So i now have four new batteries, two cranking and two deep cycle. I also have two battery switches, one switch for a cranking and deep cycle, another switch for the other cranking and deep cycle. I've got a charger on board that i plug to shore power but am not sure wich batteries it should go to, cranking or deep cycle. I also don't know if it matters which batteries it goes to because if i put the battery switches on all then all the batteries would be getting charged.
Should i have it hooked up so that the cranking batteries only get charged from the engine and the deep cycle batteries only get charged from the shore power?

It sounds like you have two different systems, each with a spare, or back up battery, a starting/operating system and your deep cycle system.

Treat them as individual systems makes the parts less expensive.

If you had adequate size alternator on your main engine then you could install two battery isolaters and charge all batteries while running.

i took a look at those pictures. The first and second picture i have.
The first picture shows two battery swicthes and i have two, one switch for a cranking and deep cycle and another switch for the other cranking and deep cycle.
The next picture show a dual bank charger wich i have, an old charlie charger. I think my mistake last year was plugging both banks from the charger to one bank of batteries, none of the wires were labeled but i have them labeled now so that shouldn't happen again.
