I recenty acquired a pontoon, with a evinrude lark 50. That's the only thing I know about the motor. Looks like someone painted over everything. I can't find any spec plates or identification plates to find the year, etc. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: motor ID

Well it isn't a V4-50 because they were Starflites, not Larks. The Lark name is better known for their 40 hp motors. So, give us a bit of information. Confirm that it is a two cylinder motor, and tell us if it has the exhaust coming out the propeller hub. Also, is it electric shift?

Re: motor ID

It is a 2 cylinder, and I did find a little plate. It had the model # 50473M, and the serial # E0007864. Hope that helps. I'm very new to the boating scene, and I really appreciate the rapid response!
