Where to get parts?

I have a sad story indeed...(not really but its a bummer) I recently bought a 64' evinrude knowing it diden't have spark but ran a compression test and tested the gears before buying. When I got home I wanted to make sure there wasn't a fuel prob as well so I pulled the head and turned the motor over and sure enough I was getting fuel as I was putting the head back on I noticed something funny with the pistions, their blown!

Long story short anyone know good sites for ordering pistons, rings, gaskets?

fuzzey,

what do mean by blown pistons? I don't believe you can get a good compression test on bad pistons. Are they scored, burned, cracked? If they look like they have a lot of burned crap on them chances are they are fine and a good decarb with seafoam will clean them up not to mention the carb.

If you do need pistons, they are still available from Johnson/Evinrude dealers. You probably will have to update them to the newer Pressure Back piston rings, so you need a parts man that knows what he is doing.

The piston has a hole in the top edge.. I would post a pic but I don't have an available camera.

I figure its from age everytime the pistion would hit TDC it would knock a little and wear down. and being a 64' I think its somewhat normal

I don't think seafoam is quite gonna cut it ;). I have torn apart the carb and rebuilt it if I/when I get the motor running (if anyone is bidding on armature plates on ebay please don't;)) Ill get a carb kit

No idea about your motor, but I just checked out your boat project and it's looking great!
