Timing Question

On the 2002 Mercuiser 3.0L (w/ the electronic ignition). What I've found on setting the timing is to connect the two white wires comming from the distributor together and disconnect the shift interupt switch.
The white wires are easy enough to find but where is the "shift interupt switch"?

thanks

Re: Timing Question

An OEM service manual is what EVERY DIYer needs. They just don't know it till they finally get one.

Re: Timing Question

I knew I needed it, I was a GM certified auto tech (mechanic) and ASE Master Tech. But I didn't know where to download it. Thanks again.

Now if anyone has question about mid 80s GM cars speak right up.
