Re: flipping

You need a long casting rod Preferably a "flipping stick". At least 7 foot, medium heavy or heavy action with a fast tip. Spool up with some heavy braid, 20 pound test minimum. Suffix performance braid or power pro will be a good choice of line. You can flip all kinds of baits, I like to use jigs, and plastic worms. Flipping is a great way to nail big bass.

Here is a half decent video of a guy explain flipping. I would not use a spin cast reel like he has but it shows how it is done.

Re: flipping

dang what do you guys do? just rip the fish in without giving them a chance? whenever i went freshwater fishing, i used about 6' 6" pole with light action and 4 or 6 pound test....makes it fun anyway. throw out a jig with a head or tail of a worm on the hook and go to town...i also like to use a spinning rod....never like baitcasters.

You do "NOT" have a chance in the thick stuff unless you get them coming your way and out of there as quickly as you can and that is where most of your "Flippin" will be! Other than that you probably could us another type presentation!
