Re: Who Made This Boat

Need a photo.

In the 60s, Starcraft made boats for Sears, along with a few other manufacturers.

I don't think that's a Starcraft. Looks more like an AlumaCraft. Try posting on the Aluminum forum at Fiberglassics.com...

My uncle just acquired that same boat! It did not have a capacity sticker on it. He got one through the state by providing measurements. It ended up getting a rating of like 35HP. However, we're using it with a 9.9 and it moves along very nicely. No way it would take a 50. Very nice solid, leak free boat.

No way is that boat rated for 50hp. My guess, based on its design is 15hp-18hp, which would plane that little tinny quite nicely.

By the way, those ribs on the bottom are just like those on my Starcraft-made boat, although mine is quite a bit older and doesn't have the metal seats.

not readable can read 5 people 150 lb each ,but the hp rating is not readable
TASHASDADDY did u put in the stick steering in that boat?
i guess I'll fix it up some and keep looking for the 16 ft 18 ft that i really want but it was a free boat, MAYBE , got to start the title search next week and see where it goes waiting on the title to the trailer I'm sure it on the ups it was stuck in the back yard fill with trash AND WATER no leaks the trailer was 2004 continental(still scatching my head on this deal, came out from store with daughter going fishing with boat in the back of the truck and man gives me a trailer and boat for free) that was worth the back breaking work it took to get it out of the yard

p.s sending him a gift card for dinner

That looks an awful lot like the 14' SeaNymph I used to have too.

25hp max rating on mine.

POLINGPOWER, yes is was having planeing problems, i needed weight forward, so i did the stick steering, and remote controls. made a fantastic boat. use to say i was going fishing, just so i could go out an run it. 1960's Lonestar 14 ft. was great to jump wakes, and just play, also a good fishing boat. a guy offer me too much for it. had to take his money.
