New to mercruiser engines...

Are these chevy engines?

Forgot to write down the numbers, but I can get them tomorrow.

It look very similar to a 2.5 chevy motor I rebuilt several yrs ago. If so, are their any different parts between the two (that will not interchange)?

Thanks in advance!

the 2.5l chevy motor is a 120 hp engine. were used in chevyII cavailers and chevy pickups way back.however the 3.0l 140hp motor was never used in a automobile.no u cant use a automobile fuel pump, alternator,or engine mounted water pump in a marine engine.the water pump in marine engines has brass vanes or are supposed to.the alternator is sealed no sparks, enclosed area fuel vapors don't mix.fuel pump marine engine has a return to the pump from the carb.so fuel doesn't pool in the bilge.marine engines run at a higher rpm for longer periods a auto.engine dropped straight in a boat would not last very long.
