I use plain old kitchen and bath GE silicone from Home Depot.

Every other year I peel off any that is loose and reseal, works like a charm. Make sure the surface is clean!

As you were told in the other thread you have regarding this, you need to find out where it is actually leaking and fix it as opposed to smearing some silicone all over it in some half azzed "repair"

I probably would not use regular silicone. 3m 4200 or 5200 depending on the need (permanent or semi-permanent) use. You can't go wrong with either.

if you leaking around outdrive, time to pull it, and look for rot. the joint between hull and cap is a noted place to take on water, especially if skiing, or tubing. start and stopping alot.

If it's an I/O and it's an older boat, you may need to have the transom re-sealed around the "/", in I/O. The shop likes to charge $1500 to do that. But then again it just could be the bellows leaking. Which was my problem. Opened the engine compartment and it looked like 2 fellows taking a wizz. The shop was nicer on that one....only $650 and they threw in a new shifter cable with it. What a bunch of nice guy's.

I have located the leak right under the outdrive.... I was only asking how to seal....And my other thread was phrased wrong the actual outdrive was not leaking sorry...

Re: taking on water!

it is time to do some intensive investigation. outdrive off, as before. you could very easily have a rotten transom. when it starts to sink, remember, i should have gotten around to it.
