First of all: I'm sooo glad I found these forums!

Here's the long and short of it all.

I'm looking at a 1969 Trihull 15' project boat.

Here's what I know.

The back 1/2 of the floor has to be replaced. No doubt the stringers are junk as well. The transom has to be replaced as well because the outboard flexes almost 10 degrees when pushed down and it sound almost hollow when knocking on the outside of it.

I'm a total noob at this stuff and so far, these forums have increased my knowledge 100 fold!

So the question is: What's the best book to get that covers all aspects of fiberglass repair for boats. I love these forums but I'd like to have a book handy when something unexpected comes up and as a backup to all the veterans help around here.

Can anyone recommend the best book they've used.

Until Tuesday I had no idea what the heck roven woving was!

Re: Best Fiberglass Advice

Don't know of the best books available, but when I rebuilt my boat all the knowledge I gaines was from this site and boatdesign.net . Search the keyword and you will be reading for days. The questions that are not already answered, you can ask. Lots of resident experts here. For starters read Oops's hull extension project.

Have a great day,

Rob.

Thanks Guys!!

I've been reading everything on these forums I can find. I'm a book nerd in that I like to read something very elementary to get an idea for the terminology and the specific uses. In the world of fiberglass it's crazy. Polyester, Vinylester, Epoxy, Woven Roving, Mat, Glass Beads, Peanut Butter, Layups and all the different tools are what I was looking for the book for. Just to give me a basic understanding of the methodology and the technical terms.

I figured this way, I'd only be bugging you about specific questions.

Here's what I've learned about things so far.
