After all that, I don't think I'd want to accept the boat, but what are the terms of your contract with them? For sure do not accept a patched tank, they don't cost that much, they have to eat that one. The other problems, can you live with the boat as they set it up, if not I'd call Lund before getting a lawyer involved. Their basic lack of knowledge about the electrical system and damage to the gas tank could have created liability for the company, that they would want to know about.

Its never been off their lot, BRAND NEW!

Well it's clearly NOT WAT YOU PAID FOR when signing the contract. Now did you have a trade in? If so demand it back! No fixed boat - no patched hull - DO NOT accept possession of the boat.

Talk to a Lawyer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the only problem might be if you ordered the work for the other stuff AFTER they repaired the hull and you talked to Lund about the hull warranty.

In any case .... Get A Lawyer!!!!!!

At this point I'd say you're beyond considering legal help. It's a must. It's going to be a pain in the ***, but it's what you need to do. Keep calling lawyers until you can find one to take up your case.

Where in BC are you?

Makes me kind of glad I bought a used boat that needs a Transom, Stringers and floor replacement. If you have done one or read the amount of work that goes into it, you would know you are facing a daunting task that I wouldn't trade for your experience.

I feel for you!

Y'know if the boat is insured, it may be your insurance company can get involved here too. I'd still work all this out through your own private legal council though.

As much as would like to say who this is, I'm reluctant to say anything at this point.

Would it help me to say who the dealer is?

Re: Lund Dealer drilled a hole in my fuel tank

what would have happened to the trolling motor / batteries being 24 volt and wiring the 12 volt downriggers to them?

trolling motor and batteries would have been fine. Might have hurt the downriggers though.

Only reason I ask where is I know a few laywerly types in BC. You can PM me if you want.

WHAT are you kidding me?

Dude you just can't get a break with these people.

NO you do NOT want a patched tank, never no don't think about it.

See if you can get your money back and get away from these people.

And call Lund and complain, complain, copmplain

Gee getting them to fix it right in the first place was such an ignorant idea! Billy Bob is the dealers cousin. His banjo playin nephew was the tech with the drill.

Re: Lund Dealer drilled a hole in my fuel tank

You've all been very helpful and compationet, thanks.

We couldn't take it anymore, we signed the papers and are off to the lake for our Canada Day long weekend, patched holes and all. They bought our fork lift damaged boat so thats a relief in itself.

The boat has been patched and the gas tank was repaired. I got the dealership to write in our bill of sale, if it should leak at any time, they will replace it. This way we can enjoy our summer, no legal issues and so on. I'm not happy about the unnecessary holes, however, a couple of good techs jumped on board to save us. They put step plates where the holes were and we are getting a new floor where the ski pole was drilled in wrong. We're opting out of having a ski pole and are going to pull the kids off the
transom hooks.
They installed a forth battery for the riggers and put an isolator between the Verado battery and the rigger battery. It should all work well now.

Its ending up okay. They reduced their price somewhat as well to make the ending a bit better for us.

I look forward to asking question about boating now.

Thanks for the support!

Cheers!

FWIW... I hope this topic will save someone grief.
Looking for a lund boat in BC? Prince George Lund dealer may not be the best place to buy a boat. Be warned.

Just an update for everyone. Thanks for all your support here. A few years has passed. We haven't gone back to the crap dealer since delivery. Lund has been no help at all. We have a really fine boat despite all the trouble we went though but the lack of support from Lund was totally unacceptable. I would never buy another Lund boat again because of this dealer. A $50 grand boat and nowhere within 500 miles to get it serviced.

The owner , the salesman and service dept were all absolutely terrible. I am in total fear to ever trust going back there with my Lund. The sales guy, (the same person that advised me that I didn't have to tell anyone about the fork lift damage to the boat, if I sold it)... IS STILL THERE.

Onward bound I go. SEASONS GREETINGS EVERYONE!

Spring is on its way!

Dude why stress? Get any coin you deposited back if any and run. OR if they offer an unbelievable deal on the boat and correct all the problems take it and dont stress. Its a boat not life and death:cool:

It will hopefully prevent someone else from going through what you did. I'm in the area too and know who to avoid now.
