Re: 50 hp 1975 evinrude how much is it worth
Just picked up a good running 1973 for $50, replaced the w/p impeller and it's ready to use. I drove past it sitting on a stand on a lawn for months, finally decided to stop out of curiosity and it turned out to be nice motor. I can't believe no one grabbed it. It even came with two new props. Now I just have to figure out what I'll use it on.
If I was to advertise it, I'd ask $550 this time of the year and maybe go to $500 but no lower. It's repainted and missing any decals but runs 100%, so that alone is worth the money. The guy had bought a boat only to find out the transom and floor were gone so he cut up the boat and put the motor out front for sale. Its got 140 psi per cylinder, new coils, new plugs and now a new impeller. The only thing that would have made it better would have been tilt and trim. The way I see it, I can get far more than it's value as a motor in parts too, so there's no reason to give it away cheap.
