i own a 40 hp with no trim/tilt unit. model J40ELCDE serial C7209639 CAN.
i have access to a 50 hp with trim/tilt model VJ50TLEIA serial G02974903 USA .
Does anyone know if the trim/tilt unit will fit on the 40?? please let me know asap

You might try going to ishopmarinedotcom and look at their diagrams and match up part numbers. One of the many marine salvage places on the net would be able to tell you.
Mods: Hope I didn't do anything wrong here by posting the ishop thing. Just basically trying to tell him to get his part number and compare to the other models.
