Hi,

I have a 1993 Byliner 2252 Classic with a Mercruiser 4.3L, Apha 1-Gen II outdrive.

I was doing some maintance and notice an unconnected wire hanging down from the dash and gages. It is a brown wire with a white stripe on it that goes back to the engine.

Is that the Tilt/Trim indicator wire? My boat does not have a T/T indicator in the dash to connect it to.

So, the wire is just there not being used. I thought it was harmless...everytinig seems to work OK.

If it is T/T wiring how hard is it to ad a indicator and relaterd sensor?

Thanks

Yes, thats what it is. My boat was the same way. I installed a trim gauge, and hooked it right to those wires. I went to the local merc dealer and bought a trim gage for 17 bucks.

OK Thanks for your reply.

You said those wires... All I saw was the brown with white stripe wire hanging. Is there another wire(s) that I would need to connect the trim gauge/indicator too? Can you tell me more?

Is there a trim sensor or sender already in the out drive?

Thanks

My boat already had the sender and limit switch on the drive. Its been a while since I hooked mine up, but I think you really only need the one wire from the sender. The other wire from the sender goes to ground.
