Well I picked up my 08 Monterey 180 fs on Sat and sat through a day and a half of fastball(boys had city wide play offs). The games were good but all I could think about was getting her into the water!!!
Finally she was in the water Sun evening .Wow I really like this boat!! It handles 2' chop very well,my old 17' aluminum would pound your teeth out in the waves.Fit and finish seem very good. 4.3 v6 mpi is awesome.
I got it up to 55mph with a bit of throttle to spare and never trimmed it up at all!! Dont worry I did it gradually and backed it off and varied the RPMs never staying at one rpm for too long.I put about 4hrs on the engine on Mon. Kids really liked the extended swim platform and I might even use it to fish from. Not ready to haul a slimy jack in to her yet!!Now a nice walleye might be a different story.hahahaWell I have to wait 2 weeks to go boating again.Damn fastball !!! (Provincials this weekend)
Thanks for everyone's input on boat choices post.

And BTW, I do not subscribe to the boater's best day mantra. Every day on the water can be your best day. Stick around and we'll help you keep her hummin' and get her flyin' even past your first test numbers. If you never trimmed out then this may be a 60 MPH boat which is a BIG threshold. Awesome!! :D
