Looks awesome Lund! I bet you're happy as heck with that! Have you set it outside in the sun on a hot day just to get an idea of how warm the deck gets? Just curious.

Re: Lund Nisswa Restoration

Greg E. Thanks.
If we ever get a hot day here I will do that to see how hot it gets, I have a buddy who has a carpet edge serger-binder so I am seriously thinking about getting some light gray marine carpet, cut it to fit, surge the edges and put just a some snaps in so it can be removed easily, so if it does get hot that decision will be easy.

Re: Lund Nisswa Restoration

I know you guys are sick of my boat pictures, but heres another.
Finished up the Port side yesterday,
-- All that is left is Starboard side boards -- splash well area -- install fuel tank and new fuel lines -- and then install engine and console.

Then hope like heck she runs true in the water!

Do not know how much weight I lost in the removal of the water logged wood and foam but I know it is a lighter boat just by the RPM's and the feel of the tow on the Toyota Pick-up when I pulled it to and from the paint shop.

Yes Oops, after 4 months of working on this project------------------
"I can smell the water"!
And Ready for a beer on the lake instead of in the shop!

Every time you post a picture I get up, and go do something else to the boat. Keep them coming, they are inspiring. :D

Yeah, this is the fun part of a restoration - seeing it all come together :)

Keep posting pics.. they're the most inspirational stuff here, seeing a well done finished project.

Yea absolutely! I get frusterated with my project cause i thought i would be done by now. Actually i thought i would be done by spring. I keep pushing it back and back and back. It really hurts, but it helps me seeing your pics and gets me motivated to get out there and get to work! Thanks Lund!!!

Re: Lund Nisswa Restoration

OK, between working this weekend and the grass needing mowing every other day I got a bit more done.
Port side storage area is installed.
Installed new fuel hoses and sending unit on the fuel tank, got the tank installed, and all of the water system plumbing hooked up and routed. Hope the fuel or water sytems do not leak.

Yes, this is the fun part----putting it together is easy work.

Tommorrow the splashwell and engine go on.

Re: Lund Nisswa Restoration

I am declaring the 1986 Lund Nisswa Restoration complete!

Doubt I could have done it without this Forum and all who helped, Thank-you!
Will be water testing the boat later this week.

Oh yea! Looks great! Go get those fish!

I brought mine to the bay today and had a ball. Of course there were a few minor bugs, but we spend the majority of the day out there. Trust me when I say you will be smiling from ear to ear when you bring it out. Of course, we will want some photos!

Congrats!

Looks fantastic. Again, I'd think I'd rather have your boat then lots of the ones I've seen in showrooms! Is that shiney e-tec new? Was it ever on there prior to your restoration?

Re: Lund Nisswa Restoration

The Evinrude is 99 model, runs like a sewing machine. I had a 70HP Johnson 2 stroke prior to this one, was a good engine except it did not like to idle for long periods, I can pull cranks all day with this one.
Thanks for the compliments all, I am sort of proud of the boat- just like I was when it was new.

Re: Lund Nisswa Restoration

On the water today, everything went quite well.
No leakage, all electronics worked.
Boat top end speed was about 7MPH faster than last summer @ 37MPH, must have been all the water weight that slowed her down.
The sun was beating down and the duraliner did not get hot at all, think I will still put in removable snap down carpet though.
