Volo Bogging

Had the boat out a few times during the past week. It ran great, but then I noticed that it was bogging down, stumbling and missing between 4000 - 5000 rpm. Below 4000, it seems to run fine.

It has an AQ131 (2.3 litre Volvo engine), I have gone through the obvious, does not have points gone electronic, carb was rebuilt last year, new wires, plugs, fuel pump, timing belt, water seperating fuel filter. To me it sounds like a fuel problem,m starving for fuel which is why it is stumbling at the higher rpm. Just got a new anti-syphon valve and will be replacing it tommorrow. Any other suggestions? I know it can be a improperly adjusted float, but it ran OK earlier. Just noticed this problem yesterday.

Thanx for your input. Have a great day,

Rob.

Re: Volo Bogging

Thanx Don,

Will check it over. Am away on holidays so I have no real place to work on it other than the parking lot at the launch. Will start by changing the anti-syphon valve.

Have a great day,

Rob.

Re: Volo Bogging

I just did a bunch of work on the engine, trying to solve my bogging problem before our next trip. When the ignition was on but engine not running the voltage at the coil was 12.3 volts. However when the engine was running it was only about 7.5 volts. Could this be my problem or is this normal to see such a drip when the engine is running? Or is it lower because the coil was charging and discharging? The coil is a Pertronics epoxy filled and was new late last year.

Thanx and have a great day,

Rob.
