Hi, I have a 1988 I/O 4.3l v6 gm. I was changing the thermostat gaskets and over tightened one of the bolts and cracked the intake manifold. It cracked where the screw for the T-stat housing goes in.

My question is can I fix it with water weld or some other type of glue or should I buy a new one?

I have tried looking foe the intake and can't find one for my year of engine. The intake has these #'s stamped on it GM 6269732. Please if someone could post a link as to where I can buy this part.

Also I want to buy a manual pressure gauge to test my oil pressure but cant find that either. I have a the tool to test the pressure of the engine, can I use this and just buy some fittings.

Thanks and Happy 4th of July.

Glue and intake manifold? NO. A mechanical oil pressure gauge is the most generic gauge you can buy. They usually have a number of adapters to fit the oil sender port on nearly any engine ever made. If you have an oil pressure test kit of course you can use it. Oil pressure is oil pressure.

I'll check and see if the one I have on the back porch is the right number in the morning... it is off the original 1988 4.3 that the boat came out with... If it's not, you can probably score one on ebay for cheap.

you should be able to get a cheap mechanical oil pressure gauge at any decent or chain auto parts store to temporarily checkyour oil pressure
