1997 Mercury 225 Saltwater Series

Need help. Engine runs fine out of the water at home, when I take it out for an hour and then drop it back in idle, it shuts off and then takes forever to get it started (if it even starts). It almost sounds like it isn't getting fuel but I checked the fuel lines and even disconnected the hose after the fuel filter and pump and plenty of gas in coming through. I also put new plugs in 2 weeks ago. Thank golly I have twin 225's. Thanks for any help.

Is this motor injected?

Are the spark plugs very wet with fuel?

Check the vacuum hose between the intake and the computer sensor, the small orifice sometimes gets dirty and the computer fails to register idle vacuum, flooding and stalling the motor.
