Slipping under power after hitting rock

I have a 2000 Sea Ray 190. MercCruiser Alpha One 305 eng. SS 19 pitch prop. I hit a rock while in forward gear at idle. Now at idle the boat will move but as soon as I add power the engine revs. It is slipping in forward and reverse. Is there a shear pin some where in the lower unit? Or is this going to hurt$$?

You should have a "Flo Torque" type replaceable hub on your prop. Just pull your prop and look for the damage. then find your local Mercruiser dealer and get a new hub kit (or two) never hurts to have a spare on board.

Don,

you are correct. I turned the prop over and noticed the broken black plastic. I am going to town to see if I can find 1...or 2. "Flo Torque" I learn something everday.
