All Force engines are cast aluminum. The blocks appear to be either die cast, lost wax cast, or centrifugally cast with integral cast iron cylinder liners. The midleg however, due to surface finish, appears to be a high quality sand cast aluminum.
The aluminum is an alloy high in silicon (for better corrosion resistance) and for that reason is more difficult to weld than other alloys. It is best left to a professional welder, unless you are extremely good at it.
