I am having cooling problems with a 1984 Johnson 75. I have the lower unit removed. I have clamped a short water hose to the tube to test the water movement in the block. When I turn the hose on all the water is running out of the exhaust section. I removed the thermostat and left the cover off. When I turn the hose on still all seems to be coming out of the exhaust, none makes it to any of the thermostat ports. I would expect with the thermostat removed and the cover off, water to flow out of one of the ports. I think the gasket below the power head must be blown. could there be something else wrong where the tube hooks to the top of the mid section below the power head?
