With the engine (not running) and the throttle control in the wide open position, look in the carbs and check to see if the choke and throttle valves, (plates) are set to the horizontal position in each carburetor, anything more will stall the engine speed.
Check the timing linkage and be sure it isn't binding! max!

Re: 90 hp Chysler throttle problem

Usually, the problem you are describing is due to lack of fuel. It gets enough at low speed to run well, but when you go to throttle up, it will not get enough and will stutter and stall. Happens quicker at full throttle because fuel needs are so much higher.

You need to check the fuel system for clogs or restrictions right from the fuel tank to the carburetors. If you have a quick connect fuel fitting, be especially careful to remove the male fitting and check the hole in the threaded end. Crap collects in there and really restricts fuel flow.

If the engine has not been run in a while, you absolutely need to remove the carbs and clean them. Varnish forms in them and really gives you headaches

You also should change the fuel pump diaphragm. Just follow the fuel line through the engine shroud. Where it connects is the pump. Six screws hold it together. Easy 15 minute replacement --3-5 bucks for a diaphragm and gasket
