Transom repair Pincecraft

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am in the process to replace the plywood contained in my transon of my 17,6 Princecraft boat.

I would like to know if anyone has done it before?

Where can I buy the marine type rivet i.e solid and pop rivet utilized on this boat the supplier refused to help me with the supplies?

I the plywoog bonded to the aluminuim with some type of adesive?

I would also like to know if it is a comon problem?

Thanks for helping me.

Re: Princecraft 176 transom leaking

Head on over to the restoration section and search aluminum boat transom. Not an uncommon problem in the least. Wood rots. They'll show you how to do it in such a way that your new transom will probably outlast your interest in the boat! The old wood is not typically bonded to the aluminum hull at all and should "slide" out once you get it all freed up.
