firing problem please help

I recently bought a 1974 Astroglass bass boat it came with a 115 hp mercruiser and the guy I got it from put a 1250 125hp mercruiser on the boat. the boat and engine has been setting about 4 years with out being run. I put a battery on it and and the engine spins over great but sounds like it is not firing. this is my first boat so I am at a loss most boats I have looked at has got coil packs on them for firing this one has a distributor this is also an inline six the kill switch is mounted under the console next to the fuse block can anyone help with what I might need to do to check it out Also I am looking for a fuel tank for this boat please feel free to even drop an email (EDIT: posting personal info is not allowed.)

First don't call it a Mercruiser, it's a Mercury outboard. Heres a simple test for the system
