I just bought a 92 Nitro FS180. None of the switches for bilge, aerator, lights, etc.. work. Is there a main fuse block somewhere I am not seeing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 92 Nitro no power

There should be a main fuse or circuit breaker at the positive post of the battery. That fuse or breaker protects the +12V circuit to the main fuse/circuit breaker panel if you have one. If the switches have what appear to be buttons below or beside them, these are circuit breakers as well. If not, each circuit should have an in-line fuse. Since nothing works, I suspect you need to look at the battery area. For all you know its not even connected back there. If all you see on each battery terminal is the large battery cables to the motor, you found the problem. Look for two smaller wires (usually red and black). Those are the boat electrical system feed wires.

They do have reset buttons under each switch. All of the cables appear to be connected to the battery. It does look like some of the wires have been replaced though. They are not red and black. Kind of look like speaker wire. Thanks for the help.

"Oh goody" -- another speaker wire is wire so it will work to power this boat. You are on your own my friend. My suggestion is pull it out and rewire properly. At the very top of this forum is a generic boat diagram by Silvertip. It should help you figure out what you need to do. With breakers under each switch, you will not have a fuse panel but there should be a large fuse or breaker at the positive terminal of the battery. That protects the power feed between the battery and the switches. Each breaker under each switch protects that individual circuit.

Found a good forum for trackers it has members who have and are selling them check it out. http://www.trackerboatforums.com/ I had a boat that some one had replaced wires with speaker wires and some were getting hot so I had to re wire all that were bad because I didn't want a fire or to get stranded on the water some where.
