My fifteen chickens will eat anything especially the little flowers that clover will pop out. Could rent them out for a month or two, will certainly save me some feed money for awhile and maybe take care of that little weed problem you have going on. :p

Pour some gas on it tell me if it kills the grass.

gas and bleach not only kill the grass, but also keep other grass from growing, which is not what you want. the goal is to get rid of the weeds and encourage growth of the desired plant. dumping gas in your yard would also be considered environmentally unfriendly...

the price of gas is just starting to go down... lets not dump it out in our yards... if everyone did it would drive up the demand and the price:)hehe

Re: How do you kill clover?

I think you should take tysonnathons' advice.

It been close to 20yr since I delt with turf on a big scale, but what he has told you is 'fact'.....and spot on.

Although I am in another 'area' now, I think he may have missed one point
"don't let your spray drift on to other plants"....and that is easy.....do it when there is no wind.... and keep your applicator low to the ground,....and always let any drift move away from you.
It is a very simple safe operation....so long as you follow the instructions.....twice as much is not twice as good.

tn.....you mention rates per 1000sq feet.
If wizeone gets serious maybe you should offer to convert that to the applicator he has......I am guessing it may be a hand sprayer.....and I am also guessing that trying to convert those rates to his situation may become difficult him.
We all know what home gardeners do with the left-overs!!
(Sorry, don't mean to be out of line).
Cheers
Phillip

There are spray tank additives out there that also reduce drift... I am not sure if you can get them at a local store or not, but they would be under names such as "DriftFree" or "Dropp".

As for the rates... there should be some spot spraying application rates on the label. If there are not, let me know and I can go over a calibration method to get you putting out a uniform rate.

Personally, I like clover.
So do deer...put out a slat lick to attract 'em.
