I have a 96 Bravo one on a proline. sometimes the trim wont come up when i press the button on the shifter, and the same with the trailer button. it just clicks, but if you press it a couple times it will work. i would really like to fix this so i dont get stuck at the dock with the out drive stuck down. thanks for any help.:confused::confused:

1.) bad trim switch.
2.) bad trim relay.
3.) worn brushes in the trim pump.

Is the switch that your talking about the one in the shifter??? Cause everytime i hit that it either works or clicks somewhere in the back so the switch is always sending current to the back.

The clicking in the back could be your relay. How familiar are you with diagnosing electrical problems, using ohmmeters, etc?

Re: Trim problems, PLEASE HELP!!!!

sounds all to familiar ....first check contacts on the selinoid switch , make sure they are corrosion free and clean may as well clean um all including GROUND ...if u still get same results disconnect selinoid and jump 12 volt right to motor leads (black is ground), if motor spins then u need a relay (selinoid switch) ,if motor makes no effort to spin ,then its time to get motor checked...your local PASCO or battery/motor shop can do a lot cheaper than buying "new"
ps . check ALL grounds for cleanliness ,also w/2 people and a simple 12v tester ,make sure you even have power going to the pump constantly
my 2 cents
