I'm new on this forum and looking for some idea of cost of pistons & rings for an old Mercury 110 outboard. I've been given this motor with one piston siezed up! Got it turning over ok again and running, the unsiezed piston is in great shape rings nice and clean and free but the rings on the piston that was siezed are rusted/siezed in the ring lands. would it be common for just one pistion to heat sieze on these engines as ive thought both would have siezed? would it be possible for water to leak in from the exhaust manifold plate gasket and run down into cylinder, as the problem piston is at the very bottom of the exhaust manifold. I'm in the uk and got no idea of prices for pistons and rings and full engine gaskets set for this old mercury engine which i think is early 80's i think?
