New boat check list

Hey guys I am new here, appears to be a really helpful site. I just bought a new to me 1994 VIP 2102 Victory. Has a 350 mercruiser. I was wondering about things I need to check before I take it out. Also the engine hatch latch is broke, and the prop rods are gone. The latch has a pull cable on the lower right side, but inside the cable is just laying there. Any help will be appreciated.

Take a look at "Does anyone know" a few threads down in this section. Coincidentally, I just posted a used boat check list.

You should be able to figure out the engine hatch stuff. Are "prop rods" gas filled struts? Do you really need them? Buy some kind of stainless latch to replace the broken one.

Thanks I will check it out. Yea, the gas filled struts that hold up the hatch. It is pretty heavy without.

They often have a selection of those at auto parts stores.
