Sender in tank is a Teleflex ( float arm hangs up) and wondering about the Sea Choice unit and how the ground is configured on these units. I would appreciate any feedback on the SeaChoice unit and senders in general and which ones people prefer. Thanks

Give us a model number or a link so we can see what we are talking about.

The SeaChoice model # is 15421, adjustable fuel sender. If I wasn't as bad at computer skills as I am at wrenching I'd have a link posted but I haven't managed to figure that out yet. I am aware of the foibles with power boat fuel gauges but the she devil would prefer an accurate gauge. Our old gauge never was right.

This is a very generic fuel sender and the ground connection is configured the same as the ground on your existing sender. The ground terminal on the sender connects to the negative terminal on the battery or to the ground buss on the fuse panel. Ground on the gauge connects to any other ground point (on another gauge, or the ground buss on the fuse panel). Disconnect the ground wire at the sender and using an ohm meter, measure from the wire to the neg terminal on the battery. If it shows continuity, the connection is good. If not, it's not.
