Tell me what I have

I just bought a second hand boat....its a 1983 Sea Nymph bass boat with a Johnson 35Hp..model J35ELCTS...

Now does this have a charging system built in....also what year manuals will work for this...meaning will a 1987 manual have the same info as a 83 for this engine....

and what manuals (publisher) do you reccomend for this engine...I basicly want it for tune ups...troubleshooting if need comes...and repairs...

so far it runs like a top...one keyturn and it fires right off...no skips at full speed...shifts nice and smooth...

it has had new plugs and a power pack installed recently....the pisser has a nice strong stream..but as far as I know the impeller has never been done....

Also this is a great forum..tons of good reading....glad i found it...great crowd of people here willing to help others...

I would go to www.ebay.com and get yourself a factory OEM Service Manual. Should have no trouble getting the specific year. I would not reccomend the Clymers or Seloc.

I would reccomend however changing the impeller, and housing if needed. It is a critical component of the cooling system, and its failure is catastrophic. Not really worth it for such a cheap part now is it?? The manual will guide you easily through it. The following may help as well.
