I have a 9.5 model 9R-71R that is giving me fits.
I have a problem with the fuel to air mix. I have to pump the ball in order to keep running on plane, if I stop pumping the motor slacks up and goes to idle speed. I have replaced the fuel line thinking it was the cheapest fix. I have checked the screen on the fuel pump and cleaned it. I have attempted to adjust the lean/rich knob with NO results. I have removed the fuel input line from the carb and it gets gas pouring out when I pump my gasline. So is the problem is the Carb?
I have yet to clean the carb out being as this is a last resort...
I can get the motor up and going as it was pushing my 1436 17MPH 3 weeks ago. I have cleaned and drained the fuel after every use and run the motor no more than 2 weeks apart. I can't get the boat to complete plane and have to joggle the choke to half choke to get the highest RPM's...
Any thoughts?
