I Have a 88 doral 16.5 foot bowrider, it came with a inboard/outboard but i'm switching to outboard motor with a bracket...What is the best way to fix the hole where the drive came through...
I bought 3/4 inch Fur ply wood..I'm going to double it up, screw it together then fiberglass over??? Is there anything else i should do?? I'm putiing a 70 Hp on the bracket..
Anybody make these brackets?? i need a diagram or photos and measurements..I know the hull and captation plate has to be the same, and that the bracket where the moter goes has to be on a 12 degree slope( same as hull)..
Has anyone attemped on a boat like this??
diagrams, pictures, measurment would be great..I have a guy that can Fab it up!
should the bracket be aluminum or stainless or just steal..
thanks for help!

Greetings.
I have one thought.
Make the plate from stainless steel.
You will never have to do anything to it again.
Aluminum will bend when you bolt the motor to it.
Steel will rust badly.

Hey
thanks alot Rich, thats look great.....I'm going to try to fab up the engine bracket...I know the hull and the Cap plate has to be in line?? and the engine bracket, where the moter bolts on has to be on a 12 degree slope....
I'm putting a 115hp on back.. if you could give me measurements of yours i could down size it to fit my hull...how wide is your stern?? and how wide the bracket etc...length??
my friend should be ok to build....

Thanks again Rich,
