I just purchased a 1965 Starcraft with a Evinrude Lark lll, model #: 35525, serial #: 08339. I was wondering what year and horsepower it is? Also, above the carb. opening is some type of mixture adjustment, how do I make sure it is set correctly. And is the gas/oil ratio 24:1 or 50:1? Thanks in advance.

Re: What engine do I have?

Welcome to iboats.

That is a 1961 40 hp. Premix at 50:1 regular 87 or 89 octane to TCW3 oil.

Check the FAQ for the settings. Look for a thread by Joe Reeves.

Re: What engine do I have?

Go to the "Repair and Maintenance" index, then the first item is "Engine Frequently Asked questions" the topic on adjusting Carb needles is about the 23rd one down that list.

Many other useful topics in those FAQs as well.

If you really cant find it GO STRAIGHT THERE

They never tell newbies where the Engine FAQs are. It's some sought of initiative test I think.
